Dr Jackson is Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University and Program Director of the Master of Science degree program in Applied Health Economics and Outcomes Research (AHEOR) within the Jefferson School of Population Health (JSPH), Philadelphia, PA. He also provides direction for the AHEOR specialization in the JSPH’s PhD program in Population Health Sciences.
Dr Jackson has 30 years of clinical research experience in product development working with the pharmaceutical industry. His work has involved many facets of the management and practice of health outcomes research, including the translation of clinical evidence into user-friendly cost-effectiveness models. Dr Jackson has generated quality-of-life evidence, and has served in leadership roles related to health outcomes research for the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, the Society for Medical Decision Making, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, and the National Pharmaceutical Council.
Dr Jackson has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific meetings. He has been a peer reviewer for many journals, including Value in Health, Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Pharmaceutical Marketing & Management, Journal of Research in Pharmaceutical Economics, Canadian Medical Association Journal, Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research, Health Affairs, American Health & Drug Benefits, and PharmacoEconomics.
Dr Jackson is the Deputy Editor of American Health & Drug Benefits, and serves on the editorial board of PharmacoEconomics.
Dr Jackson is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, School of Pharmacy, and has a PhD in Healthcare Administration. He completed 2 residencies with the US government in Washington, DC. In addition to his faculty appointment at Thomas Jefferson University, Dr Jackson holds adjunct faculty appointments in the Schools of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi, Rutgers University, the University of Maryland, and at the Department of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is a member of Rho Chi, the Pharmaceutical Honor Society.
