Ms Buffery is the Senior Editorial Director of American Health & Drug Benefits and has served in this position since the inception of the Journal in 2008. She has more than 25 years of experience in academic and medical publishing, specializing in the social behavioral sciences and medical journal research and publishing. Her current responsibilities include coordinating the peer-review process and working closely with the Editor-in-Chief, the Deputy Editors, and the Editorial Board of American Health & Drug Benefits to ensure the high quality of the editing process and the overall quality of articles published in the Journal. She is also the Editorial Director of the peer-reviewed Journal of Hematology Oncology Pharmacy. Among her previous positions, Ms Buffery was the Associate Editor for Megamot, the leading Israeli journal in social behavioral sciences published by the Henrietta Szold Institute for Research in the Behavioral Sciences; Book Division Editorial Director of Transaction Publishers, an international social behavioral sciences publisher affiliated with Rutgers University; and Editorial Director of several peer-reviewed clinical journals, including Hospital Medicine, Medical Aspects of Human Sexuality, and Resident & Staff Physician. Ms Buffery earned an undergraduate degree in linguistics and philosophy from the Hebrew University, Israel, and Masters of Arts and All But Dissertation degrees in comparative literature from Rutgers University, New Jersey. She has taught expository writing at Rutgers University; has written more than 70 clinical reviews, editorials, and introductions to medical theme issues; and has overseen the publishing process of countless original research manuscripts and systematic reviews in the social behavioral sciences and medicine written by internationally renowned social scientists and leading physicians.
